Commencement Will Find Temple Students Wearing Caps and Gowns Made from 100% Post-Consumer Recycled Plastic Bottles!

Fewer plastic bottles will be choking our landfills because for every Temple student walking at commencement, an average of 23 plastic bottles was used to manufacture their cap and gown.

In the latest effort to go green on campus, the new line of graduation wear – named GreenWeaver – is made of fabric spun from molten plastic pellets. With some 60 million plastic bottles going into U.S. landfills every day, Temple is helping to turn trash into keepsakes.

Your Temple University Bookstore has everything you need for graduation. You can purchase your cap and gown at the main campus bookstore in the student center starting April 16th. 

If you are unable to stop by the bookstore to pick up your cap and gown, you may order it here and have it delivered to the bookstore for pickup on the following day:

Please note: To participate in graduation ceremonies, all Graduates MUST wear full regalia which includes cap, gown, hood, and tassel. Hood and tassel color are determined by the degree being conferred.
